Did you know that Roanoke’s Market Building Foundation once tried to ban Plowshare Peace and Justice Center from holding their monthly Peace Vigils? Yup. They tried to forbid us from using the public sidewalk.

We decided to sue them in Federal Court, noting that a private company cannot declare public sidewalks off-limits.

We won, of course, but we still worry about what happens if peaceful assemblies and protests are ever banned… Our government and the status quo continue to make it harder for the public to complain about anything.
